His parents hailed from wealthy families in Boston and Kennedy’s father managed to make a ton of money from the stock market. As a result of this, Kennedy and his eight siblings enjoyed the good things in life despite the Depression.

However, several chronic illnesses frequently came in the way of his privileged childhood. Most of these went undiagnosed. Due to this, Kennedy spent most of his childhood recovering.
